About Us
Mission and Evangelism Work
We, the Yangon Kayin Baptist Women Association, (YKBWA), do mission work by supporting some volunteers not only in church but also in churches group level. In order to support this, we have a single family a single chick/ bird program. Starting form 2014, we have a mission field at Kwing Waing Village which belongs to Upper Bogalay Region Churches group. The mission field’s minister who serve there is Thra Joe Win. We build a hostel for this mission field and use it both as mission field’s minister’s house and as a place for worshipping and learning center, etc. We have been there regularly twice a year. At the second time we have had fellowship with them and enjoyed together the Christmas celebration. For this year, we have already been there in on the 31st of July, 2016 to worship together with them. Under the guidance and permission of the Yangon Association, we do the mission work together with Papon Association and also supporting Yangon Association, Evangelism and Mission department’s training as much as we can.
YKBWA’s Day
Annually, we celebrate YKBWA Day on the 19th of April in memory of Mrs. Vinton’s birthday, and also to honor Mrs. Calista who started and founded YKBWA. Currently in 2016 we have already celebrated our 26th anniversary of YKBWA Day and the theme for this year in 2016 is “Life which was led by the Holy Spirit of God.” Annually, we send out our representative to some churches on this day to promote and inform women from each church on YKBWA’S activities and programs. The collections or donations which we receive from YKBWA Day, we use it for YKBWA’s work and activities.
Welcome To Participate In Dream To Reality
I, General Secretary of Yangon Kayin Baptist Women Association had the inspiration to realize my dream at the first batch of Deboer fellowship, event 3 in 2014. The dream is to protect and empower vulnerable women and children, especially young girls, who are sexually abused. We begin to work for the traumatized girls to be free from the tragedies in the past and lead a safe and secure life. If they have a safe and secure life, their confidence and self-valuing will be increased, and they will also be able to live their life with dignity. We would like to fix their scattered hearts and emotions …
