Livelihood and Socio-Economic Development

This Beauty Organic Farm is located in Manny Gone Village, Okkan Township. With four acres in area we plant paddy three acres and the rest for vegetables. We also have husbandry on pigs, chicken and ducks there. The purpose of this farm is to support YKBWA’S Evangelism and Mission work. The Karen Fellowship from Purpose Church, United State, also supports us in this Beauty Organic Farm.

Honoring the Outstanding Students who pass the Matriculation Examination with Distinctions.

Annually, we, YKBWA honors the outstanding students who pass the matriculation examination with distinctions at our second mass meeting in October. We give honorarium to those who receive from one distinction to all distinctions (all D). Our purpose is to let the parents know and recognize their children’s industriousness and to value and be proud of them. At the same time, we want to encourage the ones who get this honor to continue trying their best.

Livelihood and Socio-Economic Development

Tabitha (Traditional Handicrafts and Women’s Livelihood)

The main livelihood in Tabitha is weaving. Weaving has been a traditional occupation of Mros women for many generations. They do this work to earn income and support their families. Weaving not only helps preserve the local culture and traditions but also provides an important source of employment for women in the community.

EVE FARM (Organic Farming)

EVE Farm mainly focuses on natural farming. The following crops are currently grown: 

  • Banana
  • Mango
  • Guava
  • Coconut
  • Chili
  • Pomelo
  • Roselle

The fruits and vegetables grown at EVE  Farm are used for family consumption and are also sold in the market to generate income. The profits from Eve are used to provide educational support to the students under the care of our organization.

Beauty Farm

Beauty Farm mainly focuses on crop farming. Rice is grown in the farm fields.

In addition, the farm also raises:

  • Cattle
  • Chickens

By combining crop farming and livestock raising, Beauty Farm helps support and improve the livelihoods of local people. The profits from Beauty Farm are divided into two parts. The first portion is used to support the needs of the mission field cared for our organization. The second portion is reinvested into Beauty Farm to support its continued growth and sustainability.

Bu Mission Field

Bu Mission Field combines farming with ministry activities. The following crops are grown seasonally:

  • Roselle
  • Snow pear
  • Mango

In addition to farming, the families in Bu Mission Field regularly take part in fellowship, ministry activities, and community activities. Although there are only a few households, the community is united and supports one another.

In the places mentioned above, people earn their living through farming, livestock raising, and handicrafts. These livelihood activities play an important role in improving their living conditions. Women play a key role in these activities. Family-based businesses and strong community cooperation are also important strengths.

We, the Yangon Kayin Baptist Women Association, (YKBWA), do mission work by supporting some volunteers not only in church but also in churches group level.
